How the target GPA is calculated
Your cumulative GPA is a weighted average of your grade points. To find the required future GPA, we use this formula:
Required GPA = (Target × Total Credits − Current × Completed) / Remaining Credits
What if I need more than a 4.0?
If the calculator shows you need more than a 4.0, your goal is mathematically unreachable with the number of credits you have left. You may need to adjust your target or take more classes.
Is this accurate for my school?
Most schools use this standard weighted average. However, if your school weights different classes differently (like honors or AP), verify with your advisor.
