The Pomodoro Technique

Developed by Francesco Cirillo in the 1980s, the Pomodoro Technique breaks work into 25-minute focused intervals separated by 5-minute breaks. After four rounds, take a longer 15–30 minute break.

Why 25 minutes?

Research shows concentration naturally peaks around 20–30 minutes. The short break resets attention, making the next session equally productive. Longer sessions lead to diminishing returns.

Can I change the interval lengths?

Yes — use the inputs above to set custom focus, short break, and long break durations. Common variations: 50/10 for longer deep work, or 15/5 for quick task bursts.
