How GPA improvement works
Your cumulative GPA is a weighted average. Each new semester's GPA is weighted by its credit hours. If you have 60 credits at 2.8 and need a 3.2 overall with 60 credits left, you need a semester average that compensates for the deficit.
Formula: Required Avg = (Target × Total − Current × Earned) ÷ Remaining
Can I raise my GPA if it is very low?
Yes, but it takes longer if you have many credits already banked at a low GPA. The more credits remaining, the more room you have to raise your cumulative average.
What if the required GPA is above 4.0?
It means the target isn't achievable within your remaining credits. You may need to extend your degree, consider grade replacement options, or adjust your target.
